It's hard. It took me years of living ego-driven, left brained thinking ruining my life, making wrong decisions, etc. I finally got away, took time for myself. I was alone a lot, but, it helped me to look inside and start thinking properly. You have to suppress the ego in order to do this. I also had a very insightful magic mushroom trip which allowed me to step away from my life as it was and view it objectively. This helped put me on a path of recovery and beginning to appreciate the small things in life that make us happy. Takes a while but once you build it up, it’s harder to go back to being ego-driven and depressed.
