Those who are wisely committed to the acquisition of knowledge, in the interest of truth, are more critical of their own thinking than they are the thoughts of others. They search less for those who are like-minded and welcome those who disagree; they understand there is less to be learned from the like-minded. They have no need to convince others they are wrong. They have no need to convince others they are right. They seek first to understand and then to be understood.
